Antique Singer "Featherweight". All of the black Featherweights are decorated with attractive gold decals and the Singer name on the lamp housing, but nowhere did they say the name Featherweight on them. The main casting was aluminium and the whole machine is much lighter at under 12 lbs. They are characterized by a fixed fold-up extension of the bed to add extra sewing surface on the left hand side of the needle. This fold-up design allowed the machine with its attachments to fit into its own carrying box and still be light enough to be considered portable. Providing only straight stitching they sew very well. Reverse is easy to use by just sliding the stitch length lever upwards. The extremely quiet motor made them a pleasure to use. These are quilter's dream. This has a Singer Sewing Motor Catalog 3-110. This little beauty of a machine has 100-110 Volts, 25 to 75 cycles and a D.C. 0.4 Ampere Simanco U.S.A. It comes with a Sewing Motor Controller Part No 194372. It has the paper instruction sheet for the Singer Electric Sewing Machine 221-1. Made by The Singer Manufacturing Company. It comes with the black carrying case and this one has the inner lid. Also included are the sewing machine attachments, bobbins and thread seen in pictures. Please note the handle does show some signs of wear. The machine is number AE061720. From that we know this was made in Elizabeth, N.J. December 30 1935. It is also cast Simanco USA 45713 on the bottom. Simanco is the part number.
